About The Colony Ledger
An independent local publication covering the stretch of Denton County between Stewart Peninsula and Grandscape.
Our Mission
The Colony Ledger started as a way to give this lakefront town a dedicated local voice. We're a stone's throw from Dallas and Frisco, but The Colony has its own rhythm — 23 miles of Lewisville Lake shoreline, a school district that stretches across county lines, and a retail-and-entertainment district at Grandscape that's redrawing the map of North Texas. We cover the stories that matter to the people who actually live here.
What We Cover
- Lakefront — Stewart Creek Park, Hidden Cove Park, and life along Lewisville Lake's eastern shoreline.
- Neighborhoods — The Tribute, Stewart Peninsula, Lake Ridge, and the growth reshaping The Colony.
- Schools — The Colony High School and the Lewisville ISD campuses serving local families.
- Happenings — City events, Cinema Nights, Liberty By The Lake, and the community calendar.
- Eats & Culture — Grandscape's growing dining and entertainment scene.
- Home Services — Honest, locally-focused guides to contractors and service providers.
Our Desks
Stories on the Ledger carry one of a few local bylines — The Tribute Shores Desk, Stewart Peninsula Desk, and the Five Star Desk (named for The Colony's longtime sports complex on Blair Oaks Drive) — reflecting the different corners of town our contributors cover.
