A New Kind of Night Out on Grandscape Boulevard
Walk through the doors at 5740 Grandscape Blvd. on any given evening and you will hear something you do not expect from a restaurant: the thump of a ball meeting a sensor board, followed by a burst of digital graphics and a table full of adults cheering. That is the baseline soundtrack at TOCA Social, which opened at The Colony’s Grandscape development in June 2026 and has been drawing curious crowds ever since.
The concept is straightforward to describe and genuinely hard to replicate. Guests eat, drink, and play technology-driven soccer games — all in the same space, at the same time. The format breaks down the wall between a sports bar, a dining room, and an arcade without fully becoming any of those three things.
What Actually Happens Inside
The soccer component at TOCA Social is not a passive screen-watching experience. Players stand in front of interactive boards and engage with ball-tracking technology that scores their shots, tracks their accuracy, and turns a round of drinks into something closer to a friendly tournament. Groups book bays the way they might reserve a lane at a bowling alley, and the games are designed to work for a range of skill levels — someone who played college ball and someone who has never kicked a ball competitively can share the same bay without the experience falling flat for either of them.
The dining side of the operation is positioned well above typical sports-venue fare. The menu and atmosphere carry the elevated tone the word “social” in the name implies — this is not a place built around frozen appetizers and televisions bolted to the ceiling. The kitchen and bar are central to the experience, not secondary to it.
Why Grandscape Makes Sense for This Concept
Grandscape has spent several years assembling a collection of tenants that do not fit neatly into a traditional mall or strip center. The 433-acre mixed-use development along the Sam Rayburn Tollway in The Colony already includes a range of dining, retail, and entertainment options, and the property has consistently leaned toward experiential concepts rather than conventional big-box retail.
TOCA Social fits that pattern precisely. Its entire value proposition depends on people staying longer, spending more time in a single destination, and returning with different groups on different occasions. A work team outing looks different from a birthday celebration, which looks different from a date night, but the venue is structured to accommodate all three without reconfiguring anything. That kind of flexible, repeat-visit model is exactly what a development like Grandscape is built to support.
The Colony also brings a natural built-in audience for a soccer-centered concept. North Texas has one of the largest recreational and youth soccer communities in the country, and Denton County’s growth over the past decade has added tens of thousands of residents within a short drive of Grandscape. TOCA Social is not fishing in a small pond.
First of Its Kind in This Market
TOCA Social has operated venues in other markets, but the Grandscape location represents the brand’s arrival in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. For residents who have followed the concept elsewhere or encountered it while traveling, the opening removes a trip out of town from the equation. For those discovering it fresh, the Grandscape location is the introduction.
That “first in the market” status carries some weight locally. The Colony has developed a habit over the past several years of landing concepts before neighboring cities do — partly because of Grandscape’s scale and partly because of the city’s position at the intersection of several major growth corridors. TOCA Social continues that pattern.
Part of a Broader Summer of Openings
TOCA Social was not the only new arrival drawing attention to The Colony this summer. Kono’s Northshore, serving Hawaiian-inspired plate lunches and slow-roasted Kalua pork, opened at The Shacks at Austin Ranch. Shady’s Lakeside began serving burgers, tacos, and cold drinks with live music at Hidden Cove Marina on Lewisville Lake. And Costco is actively hiring ahead of a planned October 2026 opening of a 155,000-square-foot warehouse at Grandscape.
Taken together, the summer of 2026 represents one of the more concentrated stretches of new business activity the city has seen. TOCA Social, though, occupies its own category — there is nothing else quite like it operating in The Colony or immediately nearby, which gives it a distinct position in the local entertainment landscape.
Getting There
TOCA Social is located at Suite 110 inside Grandscape, at 5740 Grandscape Blvd. in The Colony. Bay reservations and current hours are available on the venue’s website. Given the format, groups planning a visit on a weekend evening would do well to book ahead rather than walk in and hope for availability.
